Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce Hires Heather Taylor as Executive Director
The Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Taylor as Executive Director.  The Chamber celebrated its 75th anniversary and after 25 years with the Medina chamber, our prior lead executive, Debra Lynn- Schmitz, departed in late February to take a position in Siesta Key, Florida.  “Debra laid a strong and durable foundation so it is vital we bring in someone to continue and build upon that legacy. Heather will help us stay connected to our member businesses and she will help us grow and adapt with the times,” said hiring committee chair, Matt Marquard.
Heather Taylor comes to Medina having been the Small Business Membership Coordinator with The Greater Akron Chamber.  “Her metro-chamber experience and prior business success coupled with her knowledge of the area and strong relationship skill-set makes Heather a natural fit for us.” said Medina chamber board chair, Eric Shaffer.  He went on to say: “As we look to expand our chamber’s voice and relevancy through business advocacy, economic development and member services – Heather’s focus on serving members and community partners in a way that best positions us for success will be at the core of what she does. We look forward to adding Heather to our executive committee and her leading our chamber organization.”
Taylor joins and will lead the current team of Jaclyn Ringstmeier, Jennifer Gray and Becky Parkhurst in supporting business throughout the greater Medina area.  “I am looking forward to working with the team and the board to advocate for and engage with businesses and partners throughout the region.” said Taylor.  Heather begins her new role on May 27th.
The Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce unites hundreds of companies, professional firms and individuals to create a unique organization working to improve business climate and drive community engagement.  Whether it is Networking, Business Advocacy, Business Training and Education, Economic Development, Collaboration, Community Development or our great Benefits, Programs and Events – we hope you stay connected to the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce.
