The Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce is glad to have hosted the Non-Profit Forum on October 3rd, 2017. We heard a wonderful presentation on community service and decided to share with the community some of the great volunteer opportunites here in Medina.

The Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter seeks to "[help] families and caregivers learn about the disease, gain an understanding of the many challenges memory loss presents, and receive emotional support." Currently, they are seeking volunteers willing to:
  • Participate on a planning committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer's events;
  • Attend health fairs as representatives of the Alzheimer's Association to cultivate community relationships and share information about the disease and services offered;
  • Assist with monthly Caregiver Support Groups; and
  • Support Alzheimer's policy in Columbus and Washington D.C.

The Children's Center of Medina County's mission is to "nurture abused and neglected children through collaboration, advocacy, treatment and prevention." Community Action Wayne/Medina's mission is to "build bridges of hope and self-sufficiency by connecting people to resources where basic needs re met and education becomes a lifelong journey." Hospice of Medina County, a Hospice of the Western Reserve Affiliate "provides palliative and end-of-life care, caregiver support, and bereavement services throughout Northern Ohio. The Medina County Auditor is hosting the Medina County Pet-Tacular in May and "features activities for owners & pets including dog obedience classes, discounted dog vaccinations, face painting, 4-H awareness" and much more. In September, they are hosting the Rainbow Bridge walk which "provides an opportunity for pet owners who have lost a pet to come & walk across the Rainbow Bridge." Feeding Medina County seeks to "educate, engage and lead our community in creating an environment where no one goes hungry..."
